How We Designed and Developed The Montessori School Dehradun Website from Scratch Using Figma, WordPress Sage, Bootstrap & Contact Form 7

Every great website begins with understanding the people who will use it. When I started building The Montessori School Dehradun website, the goal was to create a modern, fast, responsive and easy-to-manage website that reflected the school’s legacy while making admissions and communication simple for parents. Rather than relying on a ready-made theme or website builder, I designed the interface in Figma and developed a completely custom WordPress theme using Roots Sage, Bootstrap and Contact Form 7. This approach delivered better performance, cleaner code and long-term flexibility. About the Project

The project included UX planning, responsive UI design, custom WordPress theme development, optimized page templates, enquiry forms, SEO-friendly markup and mobile-first implementation. Why Figma

Every page started in Figma. Wireframes, typography, spacing, colours and reusable components were approved before development. This reduced revisions and ensured consistency across desktop, tablet and mobile layouts.

Development

The frontend was developed with Bootstrap while the backend used WordPress with Roots Sage. Blade templating kept the code modular and maintainable. Contact Form 7 handled admission and enquiry forms. Semantic HTML, optimized assets and responsive images helped improve SEO and Core Web Vitals.

The website structure follows SEO best practices including proper headings, descriptive URLs, optimized images, internal linking and responsive design.
